10000 DaysDate: 10/05/2004 I have now been on this planet for over 10,000 days (it occured on the 7th of May, just as a by the way)
Last week was the usual stuff - sport and work.
Tuesday was spent at the gym.
Wednesday I had footy training. Training was really bad, I had real difficulties hitting anyone when I kicked it to them. I thought I was going mad as at training on Monday I wasn't that bad but it was horrific on Wednesday (I did a lot of pushups to makeup for the mistakes ). I even stayed after training to kick for a bit to try and fix it (but I could barely kick 35 metres). It dawned on me later that night that it was just my leg being completely stuffed from five straight days of exercise!
On the plus side, I'm now down to 101kgs It means that I have lost 8kgs since the start of the year - which you can pretty much put down to football!
I thought I would get a rest on Thursday but I ended up being at work for 13 hours so no rest there!
Friday was my first day of peace in a while and was I glad for it!
Saturday we (Liz went to watch) went to MacQuarie Fields to play footy. I wasn't sure if I was in the team, it turned out I was first emergency. Usually they expect at least one person not to turn up coming this far out but everyone turned up . So in a big flashback to my past I ended up boundary umpiring for Balmain (looks like the boundaries couldn't turn up ). I ended up being the only boundary umpire so I got no rest as I had to bring the ball back after every goal (and there were 32 goals!), at least the field umpires were nice and met me so I didn't have to run through the square everytime. I think I also surprised them with my professionalism on the boundary
Sunday was my getting to know my sofa again day It was a great day as the Dees won again and are now outright second (and Collingwood are still last )
Was back at training again tonight and my kicking had returned We had one drill where we were eliminated if we dropped a mark or missed a kick, I managed to last until the final 10 (until I dropped a mark but at least I didn't have to do a lot of pushups like the others who went out early )
Later,
Steve
PS Calorie count for May is now 10939 Cal
