I've sold out!Date: 10/06/2004 I have done it, I have finally started my decent into berets and cafe lattes. I went and brought an iPod yesterday. Next it will be iBooks and finally I will renounce my allegiance to the overload Bill Gates!! (what? I'm allowed to be melodramatic if I feel like it )
The new office is pretty much set up (bar the servers hosting this, until we can be guaranteed that there is no caching between the users and the servers - hopefully in a few days!). I can start relaxing again Although the ride to and from work is a bit of a killer (its 9.75km there with the last half uphill, and 9.5kms home - which I did in 31 and 24 minutes today )
While on riding, I have been noticing that changing things gives better performance. First was the pedal clips which gives about a 10% increase in performance. The next modification was slick tyres on the bike (town and continentals) which has made a huge difference, I would say at least 20% (I can maintain 24km/h going up over the harbour bridge, I used to only do 18), mind you the braking has been affected as I tend to skid a bit more when stopping rapidly. I think adding an iPod helps too, especially when listening to the Propellorheads!! (I swear subconsciously you match the beat). The last change would be to add a "Type R" or "Nismo" sticker, which I'm reliably informed gives a 5% lift (I am joking about the last one if you aren't too sure)
I have been bad and not turned up to footy training for two weeks now - I was just too exhausted with the move, but I should get back to it next week (I hope they haven't forgotten who I am )
Oh if you haven't guessed yet, I love my new iPod It is so much nicer being able to listen to music while riding or walking around instead of just having to listen to the weird thoughts that come from my head! Plus I think it has brought my stress levels down - I didn't think of kicking in the side panels on a taxi today
Oh could we please get the government to give the city councils some more money, so then they don't have to fine us for everything! So far this month I have received "pay us" notes from the council for a parking infringement (those pigfuckers don’t have markings on the road to guide you which bay you are in, the only markings are the bay numbers which leaves you to guess which one you are in, unfortunately I guessed wrong.) I did write to them and explain but I think they plan on you giving up instead of going to court and still fined me - which I ended up doing, but there will be retribution! The other fine was for not voting in the council election in March (hello pigfuckers, it is now three months afterwards, like to be any more inefficient?). Fortunately I was down in Melbourne at the time and I have receipts/people that can verify that I was down there then I do expect them to come back and say I have to pay anyway, just so they can get money off me.
And they say Singapore is the "fine" country, nope this place has it hands down!
Anyway, I think I will play some more Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, I love that game Helicopters and rocket launchers - what more could you want in life? I'm about 38% through the game.
Later,
Steve
