basketbally goodnessDate: 11/02/2004 Yay!!! \o/ I have been practicing basketball again I have been going two to three times a week to just shoot around until my skills are back to devistating And they are getting close to that stage might I add!
Skills that have returned:
Free Throws - I would hit about 75% at the moment.
3 Pointers - About 40% (I went on a run of 6 in a row at one point yesterday, and I have a witness )
Field Goals - About 60% especially from the sides of the key.
Blocking - Getting my timing and anticipation back.
Skills that are taking their damn time:
Dribling - Most of it is fine but doing a crossover between the legs usually end up with the ball in my shorts.
Layups - They are getting better but I'm still a bit to strong with the right hand so they go bouncing off the backboard.
Pullup jumpers - Still don't have the control to hit these in front of someone.
I actually played a bit of a pickup game on Saturday (after shooting for an hour so I was starting to hurt!) but I did really well. Shot about 66% and was a rebounding monster (it did help that I was a couple of inches taller than the others though )
Have also been spending some time at the gym so my goal of losing 12Kg by the end of the year looks good. I was at 109Kgs at the start of the year and I'm already back to 106Kgs (109 is the most I have ever been, but unlike last time I think I'm a bit musclier - or at least I cling to that )
I have found a cool new site for a political party that is being set up with a more of a focus on the IT issues facing us at the moment (like copyright and spam - and bring some common sense to the government on these issues) but with policies I agree with in other areas (healthcare and education for all, should respect the UN). Its called Net Effect. They need to get 500 members together so it can be registered for the uncoming election so please sign up if you agree with what is being said They have a forum where you can even have input on their policies if you aren't 100% behind them!
Anyways, off to relax!
Later,
Steve
PS Glad you liked the phots and films Abby, but they were actually taken in Sydney (would have loved to have gone to the Melbourne one as well though, could have dragged Steve Clark to it )
Oh and maybe I should press the people at Homebake for a photographers pass next year as I have made it into fourth place when you search for Homebake on Google Hopefully this will go higher when Google start indexing the photos as well
