The weekend againDate: 03/11/2002 Its the weekend so that can only mean one thing - Sports! And lots of it
Saturday started off with 2 hours of basketball with Eric. We played one on one for about an hour then we were invited over to play two on two and finally four on four. My outside shooting has gone to pieces, fortunately my inside game is still strong. It was fun in the four on four games as I was matched up against a 6' 3" guy who was a bean pole but tried to push me around anyway (he didn't have a chance )
I then went to the gym to dance (not knowing it had been moved an hour later so I had time to stuff around with the weights) I can do a flexed arm hang for 21 seconds (50 was my best in high school from memory)
Then it was touch footy time! If you are in Sydney then you should come down to Callam Park in Balmain at 3pm on a Saturday to at least watch - damn its funny!! I scored six tries, and they involved some of the dodgiest play ever (I'm so proud it was me ) I got one try after fumbling the pass but traping it on my foot and then putting it down at the end of my feet. I got another when the opposition backed back too far and I just dived on the line (literally - they looked at me like an idiot until they realised where the try line was) We ended up winning - yay \o/
I also ended up riding about 30kms on Saturday.
Sunday was the Sydney to Gong bike ride, and I was up at 5:05am and on the way officially just after 6:30am. It took just under 4 hours to ride and really, really hurt!! I ended riding 115km for the day (McMahons Point to the Gong and then Central to McMahons Point) But there were some great downhill sections - one just after Waterfall and another on the way into Stanwell Park (I didn't get to do the Bulli run as we came in via the coast) My top speed was 66km/h as I was afraid of losing it on corners.
Injuries wise I'm pretty good, only some blisters from my basketball shoes (while playing basketball so I ended up doing dance and playing touch in socks as it hurt to have the shoes on ) My cold from last week has gone bar a sore throat.
In other news I'm now down to 93kgs and I apparently have 24.5% bodyfat (according to the scales Marika has just got) but that might change as I had just been riding a lot and thats bad for getting a reading. But 24.5% puts me in the overfat category (0.5% short of obese!) and I don't feel I'm that bad anymore so I'll have to ask Jasmin at the gym on Wednesday
