Happy new year to all Date: 01/01/2005 Well another year out the way (and another year older! epp!) Hopefully 2005 will be a great one for all
My new years resolutions:
* Lose my extra weight around my stomach
* Drink less coke (there is no chance of me not having any this year!)
* Be able to do 60 situps, 100 pushup and get 13 in the beep test (thats 3 of the 4 requirements for first grade footy - there is not much hope of me doing 2.4km in 10 minutes! Its 14.4km/h for 10 minutes!!)
* Pass my uni classes
* Pass my MCSD exams
I'm back in Sydney now after going down to Melbourne for 9 days.
I went down there on my birthday and had dinner at Hofbrauhaus. Drinking too many shots of schnapps (but thankfully woke without a headache ). That included shots of killer killer schnapps - it was 80% alcohol (and tasted it ). Incriminating photos to come.
Spent the next couple of days pottering around getting presents, mowing and putting lawn mowers through peoples back windows
Went down to Foster for two days - thanks to a lot of Telfast and Rhinocourt I survived without going into a hayfever induced coma Caught up with the family and spent most of my time convincing their computer to accept the new stuff I had for it (which sadly could have been a lot easier if I had of removed a jumper a long time before I did!)
From there I went to Warrnambool to meet up with Steve Clark and his parents at the Quest Warrnambool (very nice btw, I suggest everyone stay there when going that way ) Did not much and liked it
Finally came back to Melbourne for a day again doing not much except watching the final session of the cricket. Go Aussies Go!!! Also I would be willing to pay handsomely for the head of Shannon Noll after that excruciating version of "C'mon Aussie C'mon" (not really). Oh I also decided it would be fun to shave my head
Apparently Jasmin thinks I should keep this look, not sure if work would agree
While I was away I thought it would be fun to get out and play some golf again. In fact I managed to squeeze in 45 holes of golf
I played 9 holes at Wattle Park golf links (it is only a 9 hole course). I shot a 55 (23 over par) with the only highlight being a par on the last hole.
I then played 18 holes at Foster against Greg. I shot a 120 (48 over par) to Greg's 116. The only highlights being on the first hole (the 10th) where I got a birdie after driving the ball 250m just off the right of the green pin high, I then chipped the ball a foot from the hole and putted out. From this point my game went downhill except for a few drives (like a 300m screamer on the 2nd hole - so what if it was downhill and had a tail wind )
The last round I played was at Warrnambool with Steve Clark's dad Mike. I shot a 110 (38 over par) to Mike's 112. I got another birdie, this time on the 8th with a 230m drive onto the green. I also got a par. The highlight of the round would be the 17th hole where I have driven the ball 300m to start (including bouncing it in a sandtrap! Thankfully the rain had compacted the sand so it was like concrete), I then drove the ball within 30m of the green on a 488m hole. From that position I proceeded to hit the ball at 90 degrees into a sand trap and ruin the hole . I have also found my lucky ball - I managed to make it all the way around Warrnambool without losing it! (I lost three others though ) Even after hitting it 10m into the bush only to find it at the edge of the bush on the next hole
The hardest round would have been the round at Warrnambool as there was a howling wind to contend with (and some rain) but it was also my best! And I was starting to get a lot more consistent by the end
Have just been relaxing since getting back up here. Only a few more days until I have to go back to work
I gave blood again for the first time in a year today* (I couldn't because of the tattoo), I feel my karma rising
But after being in the city today* I couldn't be bothered going to watch the New Years fireworks as, well, people shit me! I stayed at home and watched the fireworks on TV and I'm not sure if that was a wise decision either! The camera work and music choice left a lot to be desired (Tie me kangaroo down sport!!!!). Here's a hint for next year channel 9 - find out what explosions are going off beforehand instead of trying to guess when and where, I'm sure the people doing it will tell you.
Anyway, good night and happy new year \o/
Later,
Steve
* it is only 1:30am so I still consider it today
