hehe I'm lazy Date: 25/01/2005 Nearly up to 100,000 hits
I probably should have updated sooner, but I have either been lazy or really busy!
The first week I was busily working away on designing version 4 of this site - which I did and was very happy with but when it came to make it shine, I realised I didn't know how to in VB.Net so I'm going to have to read this big book beside me to figure it out (oh the book is Developing and implementing windows-based applications with VB.Net - say that quickly 5 times!).
The next week I spent catching up with my season on NBA Live 2004. I'm scoring just under 100 points per game (damn I'm good ), Shaq is second in the league with about 30 per game and the team is 67-0 for the season (playing 12 minute quarters though so it takes a long time to complete each game!)
Last week was spent underwater doing an Open Water SCUBA course with Prodive in Manly. I had my little sister up here too, doing the course with me It was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone. But I did manage to get a bit sunburnt - ok, replace a bit with a real lot! My scalp has finished peeling just in time for my left shoulder to start (I expect my right shoulder to start tomorrow). Maybe shaving my head before going diving wasn't the smartest thing I ever did! Oh and don't believe sunscreen when it says 2 hour water resistant! I don't think it applys to scuba diving
This week has been wasted playing games on the Neopets site that my sister left for me in the links. I have a monkey called swampa (shock horror there! )
And soon I shall be getting a Gir figurine I love Gir (and thanks to Clark for finding it at Minotaur for me)
The only thing that is annoying me at the moment (apart from my laziness) is that Woolworths and Coles have Easter eggs in already - we are two months from Easter! At least they have hot cross buns in too (which I can partly forgive them for as I like them )
While my sister was up here last, I actually got around to buying some music, they include:
Urthboy - A distance sense of random menace. It is Australian hip hop (I can see you already cowering at that term ) but it is a good album. No rider has been getting played on Rage and the rest of the album is good listening. 8/10.
Eminem - Encore. I really liked the Eminem show and I hoped this would be just as good - boy was I disappointed! Apart from Just lose it and Like toy Soldiers the rest of the album is weak and doesn't even feel like it is trying to be anything more. If you like hip hop, try Urthboy before trying this album! 4/10.
Machine Gun Fellatio - On ice. Like all the other MGF albums I have to date it is really hit and miss (I tend to only like a couple of songs on each album but those songs more than make up for the rest!). Although I don't think there are as many of these songs on this album. Still a solid effort from MGF. 6/10. (I have just read that Widow Jones is leaving the band )
The Dissociatives - Self titled. I like Paul Mac's music and like several of Silverchair songs so therefore I should like a colaboration between the two (well minus two Silverchair members), and what do you know - I doooo . I have had the advantage of hearing most of their songs before buying the album thanks to Rage showing them playing at the Enmore Thearte. Good music to bop too when wanting to tune out. 8/10.
Orbital - Blue album. Another good album to put in the background and bop too, but this one doesn't reach the same heights as the Dissociatives. 6/10
Scissor Sisters - Self titled and Remixes! Oh my god!! If there were only more bands like this I would be very happy. I first heard them when I was last down in Melbourne but I didn't realise they were this good. The Self titled album is great to listen too but then they have an album of remixes which have made the great songs even better. 10/10! It would be between this album, Gomez's and Franz Ferdinand's for album of last year.
I have managed to go over three weeks without a Coke now And I have replaced it with water - I did 26 litres in one week recently and I have nearly had 4.5 litres today
Next month is looking like it will be very busy, I only have 7 days in the month that don't have at least one activity assinged to them.
Anyways, have a happy Australia day (and don't forget the Hottest 100 is on tomorrow )
Later,
Steve
