People are jerksDate: 10/06/2006 Mood: Bummed Out Listening to: Muse That group does include me of course
It turns out that I should stay in bed on Saturdays from now on! Last Saturday I managed to lock myself out of the apartment while taking the garbage out - about 15 minutes before I needed to leave for footy. With no phone or wallet I had to wait an hour before the neighbours came home so I could use their phone to get a locksmith .
This meant that I turned up for the game at quarter time and was not really in the footy mindset. It took me until the last quarter to get into the game (I had no marks and only a few possessions until then!). We ended up getting pumped by about 120 points .
This Saturday things were looking up, it had been raining all week so I didn't have to spend all day on the gate at the footy (the strange thing about football in Sydney is that if it rains hard during the week, you can't play on some ovals - I miss playing in the mud ). Went out with friends and had a good day only to come home and find some fucker has stolen my bike
I really need to stay in bed on Saturdays I feel (expect to see a plane drop from the sky next weekend with me on it ).
I did manage to finish another semester of uni during the week - hopefully I passed *fingers crossed* It was an evil exam that no-one seemed to like so we are all hopeful that it will be graded on a curve.
The world cup has started and I have managed to watch two of the three games played so far This is going to lead to a lot of sleep depravation in the coming weeks! Although SBS needs to work on their HD signal! They could be transmitting on something better than 576p (seeing standard definition is 576i).
The NBA finals are also underway - I'm not sure who to go for! I like the Heat because Shaq plays for them (I would love for him to win to prove that he was the more important partner in the Kobe-Shaq time at the Lakers) but I like the Mavericks for Mark Cuban, the owner, who is a real thorn in the side of the NBA hierarchy .
I have been listening to the new Muse album. It is good, not as good as their previous efforts but still a lot more good songs than bad songs (and a lot more good songs than most of the albums out at the moment!). I can't wait for the CD to come out so I can get it properly (the internet is so my bitch!).
Anyway, the next game of the world cup is about to begin
Later,
Steve
