Darn Thorn
The ads on TV recently have been annoying me, everybody is trying to make you feel bad and get you to modify your behavour instead of them having to do anything.
Currently in Victoria, the government has ads on the TV telling us save water and electricity (electricity saving ad on YouTube - which is misleading as it implies that if you turn things off, then they create energy! The balloons should stay where they are when you turn off an appliance!). I can't help but think that these ads are less about being good for the evironment and more about it allows the government not to have to spend money on new infrastructure *cough* water desalination plant *cough* (that can be the next government's problem!).
Add to that the government is happy to waste water and electricity. I don't see them calling off events such as the grand prix, the swimming championships or even the night football (I would love to see how many balloons are released during a night game!) to save some of these resources.
Another company doing this is Connex. They have ads saying how fare evaders can re-pay fare paying customers, why doesn't Connex pay for more ticket inspectors/cunductors instead of pushing the blame of their inadequate system on the users.
Anyway I have now survived four weeks at my new job with City Software and it is really good. It is nice having structure and some quality procedures!
Farktography wise I have been doing ok, nothing spectacular though!
Everyday Heroes - I only had one photo in this week it came 33rd with 12 votes.
Behind the Scenes - Not to good this week with only 12 votes total and entries coming 62nd, 83rd and 98th.
7 Deadly Sins - A lot better this week. I got 31 votes with two entries ending up 20th and one ending up 27th.
Hobbies - I got 24 votes in this contest with entries coming in 32nd and two entries coming 120th.
On the plus side I have managed to get Steve Clark to enter the last couple of contest.
I got to play in the grand final for the E-Reserve in basketball and we won
Anyway, thats enough for me. I need to be up early to ride into the city!
Later,
Steve
